Oil paint on 22.5”x30” Arches Oil Paper made by suspending dipped paint brushes outside for approximately 36 hours while wind created movement and abstraction. Artist’s hand was in the setup, re-wetting of paint brushes, color choice, and intermittent repositioning of canvas.

This is a life-size bust of my husband, Chris. It was built on a frame, cut open, hollowed out, and then put back together. It has been bisque-fired, but not yet glazed.
This sculpture has nine lives! It had to be an animal that defied gravity and was originally built on a structure. It is fired to Cone 6 with Ohata, Black, and Shino glazes (plus a touch epoxy & acrylic paint because I dropped it).
This pinch pot container is here to remind us of the harm single use plastic can do to our ocean inhabitants. I built this to hold reusable straws, utensils, and more. She was glaze fired to Cone 6 (ChunTeal) and then crowned with seashells and a plastic entanglement.
This is a pinch pot anatomical heart that was wrapped with things like pennies, cobalt, banana peel, and rock salt. After being secured with steel wool, it was placed in a barrel full of sawdust and pit fired. The skeleton hand is a great Halloween prop aka found object.

Recycled Plastic and Coin Operated Candy Machine
Recycled Plastic and Coin Operated Candy Machine
Assessing Plastic Ingestion From Nature to People According to the World Wildlife Fund:
The average person could be ingesting approximately 5g of plastic every week.
(Approximately the size of a small handful of candy.)
Common foods and beverages that contain micro-plastics are water, beer, shellfish, and salt.
As many as 1,769 particles consumed come from micro-plastics in tap and bottled drinking water.
75% of all plastic produced is waste.
About 87% of mismanaged waste is leaked into nature and becomes plastic pollution.
The ocean will contain 1 metric ton (2,204.62 pounds) of plastic for every 3 metric tons of fish by 2025.
14" Cube Glass Tank, Tap Water, 10 lb Ice Block
The Global Sea Level According to Climate.gov:
The Greenland Ice Sheet lost 247 billion tons per year between 2012-16.
That's seven times an increase compared to 1992-2001.
The Arctic loss is up to 199 billion tons lost per year from 2012-16.
This melting and amount of sea level rise is due to thermal expansion.
Almost 40% of populations live close to coastlines and face flooding, shoreline erosion, and hazardous storms.
"By the end of the century, global mean sea level is likely to rise at least one foot above 2000 levels, even if greenhouse gas emissions follow a relatively low pathway in the coming decades."
